Wynonna Judd: Her Husband, Her Fans and Her Music

When it comes to following her heart, no one does it like Wynonna Judd. It’s been a blessing and a curse for the country music icon since striking it big nearly 30 years ago as part of The Judds.

“My sweet, charming and sometimes irritating light of the universe—when I’m in my moment of chaos, he’s such a good temperament for me.” The “light of the universe” Wynonna mentions is her husband of two years and partner in crime, singer/songwriter Cactus Moser.

Wynonna and Cactus have co-written the song “Follow Me” from the movie The Hornet’s Nest. It was at his urging that the pair wrote the song.

Citing the way her music dovetails with philanthropic endeavors, Wynonna said, “I’m in it for the art. Whether it’s a rape center [or] a shelter for kids with cancer. I’m wherever people need me. Whether it’s black or white, gay or straight, Democratic or Republican, I don’t care. I’m music.”

It’s a positive stance that will likely be reflected on Wynonna’s next album, which is currently being recorded. “I’m absolutely going in a direction people are going to go, ‘What in the heck is she doing?’” she says, laughing. “And I love that!”
