Taylor Swift Safe From Stalker
Threats result in restraining order against Timothy Sweet.
It’s a symptom of celebrity. Fans who carry their passion for their favorite actor, athlete, singer or any other high-profile personality to an obsession can often become delusional and even frightening to the subjects of their infatuation.
Sadly, Taylor Swift knows this firsthand and has obtained an extended restraining order against Timothy Sweet. The offender had previously visited Taylor’s Rhode Island beach home, where he used his truck to block her driveway. He was escorted from her property, but police were later dispatched when he showed up again a few weeks later and refused to leave.
Taylor obtained a temporary restraining order against him, but this week a judge issued a three-year extension on the order of protection after it was discovered that Timothy not only claimed to be married to Taylor, but also threatened to “kill any man” who came between them, including Secretary of State John Kerry, according to reports.
The judging stated that Timothy is restricted from coming within 100 yards of Taylor or her parents for the next three years. Taylor claims that the harassment began in 2011 through e-mails, letters and social media posts.
