Put Me in Coach: John Fogerty Talks New Album and “Centerfield”

With Wrote a Song for Everyone, John Fogerty has released one of the summer’s most outright fun albums. A collection of some of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s famous songs, both solo and with Creedence Clearwater Revival, the project features duets with Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Zac Brown Band and other country and rock stars.

But there’s one hit John didn’t include: the baseball anthem “Centerfield” (maybe for Vol. 2?). We asked him about the impact that song has had on sports fans.
