Maggie Rose “Better” Video Premiere

Country Weekly is proud to give you the exclusive premiere of Maggie Rose’s new video for the single “Better.” The song appears on Maggie’s latest album, Cut to Impress, which hit stores in March.

The video was shot on location in the Nashville area, with scenes in an old mansion as well as a small chapel. The two locations had a connection to the song's message of healing.

“The reason we chose these locations was because our treatment told the story of someone who is in mourning,” Maggie informed CW right after the clip was filmed. “You don’t really know specifically what the person has gone through or who they’ve lost.”

Maggie pointed out that the song has a number of interpretations, from heartbreak to the loss of a loved one, and thus the video features primarily her going through the struggle without an explanation of what happened.

“I wanted to play on the ambiguity of that and show someone going through the grieving process and then finding that little light at the end of the tunnel,” she said. “So it was just me and there’s no love interest or anything in the video but I think that made a more powerful statement for me for what I wanted to do for the song.”
