Get to Know the PawnShop kings, Part 3 of 3

Scott and Joel Owen explore Memphis music at the Stax Museum, Ardent Studios and Sun Studio.

In the third installment of the PawnShop kings’ videos, brothers Scott and Joel Owen talk about the way the rich musical legacy of Memphis has had an impact on them.

“So much of our love and influences is rooted in the music from Memphis,” says Scott. We’ve got the family component of going there our whole lives, then you’ve got the musical component that really defines and identifies us in a lot of ways.”

As the song “Make Me Whole” from their PSk EP plays, the brothers are seen visiting the Stax Museum, also known as Soulsville U.S.A., as well as Ardent Studios and the famed Sun Studio, where Johnny Cash began his recording career.

“The whole experience to us was the ultimate musical road we got to roll through,” adds Scott.
