Eric Church: The Man Behind the Aviators

Eric Church takes CBS Sunday Morning into his Blue Ridge Mountain home to talk about his roundabout ascent into country music stardom. He discusses how various experiences—from shooting hoops in high school basketball to getting fired from a Rascal Flatts tour—shaped his bad-boy image and rock-infused sound.

His new music reinforces his rebel image, but Eric’s wife, Katherine, says, “Offstage he’s very much a wonderful father, a great husband. He’s my best friend.”

The real charm of this interview comes from seeing Eric outside his Chief persona, sans sunglasses. He really is just a North Carolina boy trying to pursue his country music dream.
