Kerry grew up on a farm about 130 miles northwest of Dallas - "So there's no way I could be anything but country," she declares. She began singing at area fairs and festivals at age 12, and in 1995 decided to abandon college for Nashville, where she spent time working in a boot store before finding success as a songwriter with the 2002 John Michael Montgomery hit " 'Til Nothing Comes Between Us." The buzz from that tune led to her own record deal, which she signed three years ago. Now things are finally falling into place for Kerry, and her debut album is set for release in February.

"Who I am and where I'm from comes through in the music," she says. "I hope that, 10 years down the road, people can look back at what I've done and really have a respect for it."
