WHO'S NEW: KEITH ANDERSON
ON THE CHARTS: "Pickin' Wildflowers"
"I'm from Miami, Okla.- pronounced 'Miamuh.' They say that's the way the Indians pronounced it, but that might just be an excuse."
"I moved to Nashville in March of 1998 and started knocking on doors. The first song of mine that got cut was 'Beer Run,' by Garth Brooks and George Jones. Originally it was just going to be Garth, which was amazing. Then when they told me it was going to be a duet with George-holy cow! What can you say?"
(MUZIK) MAFIA TIES
" 'Pickin' Wildflowers' is just about going out and having a good time in the country. I wrote it with John Rich, who's co-producing the album, and Gretchen Wilson recorded a song I wrote, 'The Bed.' I'm lucky to be tied in with all that."
CAN YOU FEEL IT?
"I want my music to be something you feel-whether it's something stomping like 'Pickin' Wildflowers,' or an emotional, detailed ballad like Willie Nelson or Merle Haggard would write."
Keith's debut album is set for release this spring. He's currently on tour with Phil Vassar.
