Due to extraordinary fan response and overwhelming ticket demand, supergroup Alabama has announced the extension of its American Farewell Tour, adding 30 more shows to run throughout next year.

The first leg of the tour - signaling Alabama's goodbye to the road - included stops in 40 different markets, and, to date, has attracted an audience of over 400,000 fans, with ticket sales generating in excess of $20 million. Now tour sponsor Clear Channel Entertainment has announced the continuation of the tour into 2004.

"I'd hoped Clear Channel might extend the American Farewell Tour to allow us to perform in places that weren't on the original tour schedule," notes Randy. "I think it's great that the additional tour stops will give even more fans a chance to see us without them driving or flying a long way."

The new shows in as yet "untapped" markets will include appearances in Atlantic City; Austin; Biloxi, Miss.; Buffalo, N.Y.; Charleston, W.Va.; Oklahoma City; Richmond, Va. and Tallahassee, Fla. The tour's second leg kicks off Feb. 7, 2004, in San Antonio, and continues through June.

"Our fans make us want to do the very best we can for them," declares Randy. "We try to take each performance in each city beyond what we usually do onstage because these folks are seeing us for the last time out on the road. We want them to have fond memories of the show - and we want to have fond memories of seeing them, too."

The American Farewell Tour show is a three-hour-plus concert event during which Alabama - Randy, Teddy Gentry, Jeff Cook and Mark Herndon - performs a collection of songs from their amazing 25-year career, including many of their 42 No. 1 hits like "Mountain Music," "Feels So Right," "Dixieland Delight," "Jukebox in My Mind," "I'm in a Hurry (and Don't Know Why)" and "Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler)."

Named Country Group of the Century by the Recording Industry Association of America, Alabama has more No. 1 records than any band in musical history. And Alabama has sold more concert tickets than any other country act. They have also been recognized with more than 150 industry awards - the most recent being the American Music Award for group of the year - and have amassed 17 platinum and multiplatinum certifications representing sales of some 70 million albums.
