RED WHITE & BLUE
When American servicemen and women need a lift, they can always count on country's finest. During the past year, dozens of stars have shown their support by visiting the troops both here and overseas.
Faith Hill put on a rousing show for soldiers at Fort Bragg, N.C., while husband Tim McGraw pitched in at Pershing Field in Fort Carson, Colo. Tim performed a free show for more than 20,000 military personnel - footing the entire bill himself! Jo Dee Messina entertained 7,000 men and women stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri, as part of the "Spirit of America" Tour.
Other stars have trekked overseas - often under dangerous conditions - to boost the spirits of the troops. Trace Adkins and Craig Morgan, a staff sergeant in the Army Reserve, made the long trip to Afghanistan. Mark Wills and Chely Wright put on shows in Iraq, in the midst of heavy fighting, and Lee Ann Womack led a contingent of stars, including Neal McCoy, in a USO tour of bases in the Middle East.
The stars don't think twice when they're asked to perform. Says Faith, "It is an honor to be able to do something for our men and women in uniform."
