The House Of Vassar
Phil Vassar spends his off-road time at his beautiful Nashville-area home.
In the Jan. 14 issue of Country Weekly, Phil Vassar gives fans an up-close look at his Nashville-area home. HereÂs more from Phil on the artwork that heÂs purchased for the home, plus a career goal he wants to achieve.
CW: Do you have a favorite piece of artwork?
Phil: There is one painting I have of a little kid, whoÂs walking through the streets with these dreams around him. It really reminded me of when I was a kid. The artist is April Street from Bristol, Tenn., and I just love her work. I really enjoy modern art and sculpture and I have a lot of pieces around the house.
CW: Do your daughters [Haley and Presley] show any musical aptitude?
Phil: IÂm afraid they do (laughs). TheyÂre both little performers, and itÂs going to be interesting to see where they go in life.
CW: You took a big risk coming to Nashville at a pretty young age
Phil: I did, but my Dad always told me that I was wasting my time at home if I was going to pursue music. I would have to go to Los Angeles or Nashville or somewhere like that, and he was definitely right. I didnÂt always agree with him about everything, but that one made a lot of sense.
CW: Is there a goal left that you want to accomplish?
Phil: I would love to play with a symphony orchestra. That would really be great. The new symphony center in downtown Nashville is one of the most fabulous structures I have ever seen, and I would love to play there sometime.
