Honor Thy Father

Shooter Jennings delivers a CD of Waylon’s final recordings.

In the Nov. 17 issue of Country Weekly, Shooter Jennings opens up about some of the true loves of his life-girlfriend Drea de Matteo, their year-old daughter Alabama, his iconic dad Waylon and the great collaborative album between father and son—Waylon Forever—recently completed by Shooter.

The project includes eight Waylon classics as well as some cool covers and one new Jennings tune. The album, originally begun by Shooter and Waylon when Shooter was just 16, now features Waylon’s vocals and Shooter’s current tail-kicking band, the .357’s.

Anything featuring Shooter and his band with Waylon would be worth the money to pick up a copy, but these tunes make Forever a must-purchase CD.:

  1. “Jack of Diamonds”
  2. “Outlaw Sh*t”
  3. “Ain’t Livin’ Long Like This”
  4. “Are You Ready for the Country?”
  5. “Lonesome, On’ry and Mean”
  6. “Waymore’s Blues”
  7. “White Room”
  8. “I Found the Body”
