FLASHBACK: TWO FOR TWO

Right out of the chute, the duo of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn - known simply as Brooks & Dunn - was a force to be reckoned with. Their first single, "Brand New Man," shot to No. 1 in September of 1991, and three months later on Dec. 21, they hit the top again with their follow-up, "My Next Broken Heart."

That put the duo in some pretty select company. Only a handful of stars - including Lefty Frizzell, Clint Black, Donna Fargo and Freddy Fender - had ever seen their first two songs go straight to the top!

"You dream all your life of getting a No. 1 record," an ecstatic Ronnie said at the time, "and you work so hard for so many years. Then you get two of them and it's incredible." Added partner Kix, "It took us both back when we tried to imagine all that happened in this short a period."

And the good times have kept on rolling - the duo has scored 18 chart-topping hits in their amazing, ongoing career.
