John, a former radio DJ, has been one of country’s most consistent hitmakers for the last 30 years, starting with his 1978 debut single, “Rose Colored Glasses.” The Kentucky native’s No. 1 hits include “Lady Lay Down,” “Backside of Thirty” and “Common Man.” John joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1981.
