Toby-Chicks Ad Scrapped

A planned TV spot set to feature longtime antagonists Toby Keith and the Dixie Chicks teaming to address concerns about global warming has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts.

“The two dates that I had available to go do it, they couldn't work out,” Toby explained to the San Jose Mercury News. “Then we agreed to a third date, and they said the Chicks wasn't going to do it, so now it's gotten to where it's probably not going to happen. It's hard to get people that don't get along to agree when all those egos and stuff are involved.” The commercial was to be part of the Alliance for Climate Protection’s “We Campaign,” which features ideologically opposed public figures joining forces to promote discussion of climate change.
