THE SCOOP

Taylor Gets Her Prom Night

Taylor Swift celebrated her latest successes at a prom-themed industry party at Nashville club aVenue, May 12.

Taylor didn’t get the chance to attend her own prom this year at Hendersonville High School outside Nashville. So, Taylor’s record label encouraged guests to attend the party in prom attire. Taylor arrived at the party in a striking blue prom dress and a tiara with the words “Our Song” across the top. “We figured that since I didn’t get to go to my prom at Hendersonville High School for senior year, we were going to create one,” Taylor explained. The party also celebrated Taylor’s recent No. 1 hit, “Our Song,” and the triple platinum success of her self-titled debut album. Before the event, Taylor met with members of the Nashville media and discussed her three ACM nominations, her upcoming CD and more. Taylor’s new CD will be released later this year and she noted that she wrote every cut on the album. “I thought that I would have a difficult time [writing the songs], but I find that I write better under pressure,” Taylor said.
