Songwriters Hall Names New Members

The late Tammy Wynette and top Music Row composers Kye Fleming and Mark D. Sanders have been named as the new inductees to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The three will be officially welcomed at the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony, presented by AT&T, at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel, Oct. 18. Tammy Wynette, who gained her biggest fame as a classic country singer, was also a prolific writer who penned many of her greatest hits, including her signature tune, "Stand by Your Man." Kye Fleming's credits feature "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool" by Barbara Mandrell and Ronnie Milsap's hit, "Smoky Mountain Rain." Mark D. Sanders is best known for Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance," and has also written Faith Hill's "It Matters to Me," the recent Jack Ingram hit, "That's a Man," and many others.
