Michael Peterson Wins Spirit of Hope Award

Singer/songwriter Michael Peterson was announced as the recipient of the Bob Hope “Spirit of Hope” Award for his dedication and continued contributions to the troops of the United States armed forces.

Originally commissioned by the USO in 1997, the award is given to individuals who have “demonstrated tireless dedication to our country and to U.S. troops, both in times of peace and war.” The award was recently given to Michael, whose hits include “Drink, Swear, Steal & Lie” and “From Here to Eternity,” at a ceremony held at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C "The men and women in uniform who serve our nation selflessly with honor and integrity are inspiring to be around," says Michael. "For decades, Bob Hope saluted them with entertainment and encouragement from home. I am grateful for this recognition and the privilege of being associated with his legacy." Michael completed the U.S. Army-sponsored My Real Life—Strong for America Tour earlier this year.
