ACM NOMINEES

It may finally be Toby Keith's year. He's a platinum-selling country artist with a string of Top 10 hits, but if you look inside his trophy case, it's pretty bare.

Despite his success in the country music world, Toby Keith tends to be overlooked year after year by the organizations that reward musical achievements.

That may soon come to an end. This year, Toby is tied with Lee Ann Womack as the top-nominated act for the annual Academy of Country Music Awards. They each received six.

Toby was surprised and very pleased with the news of his multiple nominations.

"I've always been the underdog when it comes to awards, so it's a new feeling to be at the top of the list," Toby told Launch.com.

"To my loyal fans, thanks for your belief in me. I hope this helps get the monkey off my back. And by the way, I'm taking the monkey out partying tonight."
