KELLIE GOES GOLD ON THE VIEW

Rising star Kellie Pickler was surprised on national television when she was presented with a gold album plaque during her appearance on ABC’s The View, Thursday, Jan. 18.

Kellie, the best-selling new solo country artist of 2006, hit the gold mark with her CD Small Town Girl. The first single from the album, “Red High Heels,” is currently in the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The View co-host Rosie O’Donnell admitted that the show tried to get Dolly Parton to give Kellie the plaque, but the timing could not be worked out. Off-camera, Kellie raved, “This is awesome! It reinforced that my dreams are becoming a reality.”
