PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS: PLENTY OF COUNTRY

Country music performers scored big in several all-genre categories for the upcoming People’s Choice Awards, Jan. 9, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.

In one main category, Favorite Male Singer, all of the nominees are country artists: Kenny Chesney, Trace Adkins and Toby Keith. For Favorite Female Singer, country picked up two of the three nominations: Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood. Plus, Rascal Flatts” “Life Is A Highway” appears in a new category, Favorite Remake, as well as Favorite Song From a Movie, the animated picture Cars. The group is also nominated for Favorite Country Song, “What Hurts the Most.”
