KENNY MAKES HISTORY IN BOSTON

Kenny Chesney may have set a record for the largest-grossing show in country music history Sunday night, July 16, in Foxboro, Mass.

Kenny drew 56,000 fans to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, just outside of Boston, for a gross of more than four million dollars. Concert promoters believe the figure to be a record-setter for a country show. When told about the blockbuster turnout, Kenny said, “It makes you stop for a moment. Then you realize, I guess a lot of people want to come and have fun with us.” Kenny paid special tribute to his Boston-area fans when he performed “(She Comes From) Boston,” the first time he’s ever done the song live. The fans sang along to the tune, prompting Kenny to comment, “That’s exactly the way you hope your songs will connect.”
