KENNY SETS SEATTLE MARK
Kenny Chesney continues to set records on his The Road & the Radio Tour, as he scored the highest-grossing concert in Seattle history, June 24.
Kenny completely sold out Qwest Field, the home of the city’s NFL team, the Seattle Seahawks, for a grand total of nearly $3 million in sales. The show had a higher gross than previous concerts by rock giants like Paul McCartney and Madonna. “That tells me that country music is pretty healthy,” Kenny remarked after the show. “If you look at our crowds, they’re happy, they’re alive, they love the music, and that to me is what it’s all about when people are talking about the state of the music business.” Kenny added, “We’ll never forget that night. The audience was amazing.”
