CASH MOVIE GETS GLOBE NODS

Walk the Line, the smash hit movie about the lives of Johnny and June Carter Cash, has also proven popular with the Golden Globe award voters.

The film grabbed a nomination in the Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy—category, while lead actors Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon were nominated for their performances. Another nod went to country superstar Dolly Parton, who's up for Best Original Song, "Travelin' Thru," from the movie Transamerica. Dolly won a Golden Globe back in 1980 for her song "9 to 5," in the same category. The Golden Globes, which will be handed out Jan. 16, are often considered an early predictor for the Oscars.
