GRETCHEN WILSON TOPS THE CHARTS

It only took 12 weeks for Gretchen Wilson's debut single, "Redneck Woman," to go to No. 1 on the country singles charts. Gretchen's race up the charts is the fastest rise since by a new artist since Billy Ray Cyrus' "Achy Breaky Heart" in 1992, which went No. 1 in nine weeks. "I think a redneck woman is kind of like [a] no fear attitude ? just 'this is who I am, this is the way it is and take it or leave it' kind of attitude," Gretchen tells X Radio Networks. "I mean, I'm not trying to be anybody for anybody or for any reason ? [it's] just being yourself and being proud of yourself."
