Sarah’s debut album finds the singer/songwriter being a typical 20-something-year-old girl in America—enjoying first-time freedom (“American Daughters”), navigating days when only a ball cap and “fat jeans” will do (“That Kind of Day”) and longing for a “Love Like Heaven.” Her voice transforms from sunny and sweet on the joy-filled “Outside My Window” to scratchy and soulful on moody, indignant tracks like “Space” and “Stupid Boy” (written by Sarah and famously recorded by Keith Urban). Another Aussie guitarist, Jedd Hughes, contributes to the folksy yet captivating “Big Blue Sky.” A solid first effort from this rising artist.
