Sisters Becky, Emily and Joanna Robertson grew up in a superb setting for a country music education; their parents were members of Waylon Jennings’ road band The Waylors in the 1970s.

The trio manages to name-check both the late Waylon and his wife, Jessi Colter, on the first track, “Wild Together.” “A Little Less Comfortable,” one of the stronger cuts on the six-song EP, is a song about a woman managing a stale relationship while longing to be treated like your lover, not just your wife.

“I Can Break Hearts Too” boasts a bass rhythm reminiscent of “Highwayman” by ’70s supergroup The Highwaymen (which included Waylon), but the trio’s harmonies come off as a bit too sweet to make the song believable. An attempt to roughen up the group’s sound on “We Ain’t Makin’ Love” seems a bit forced, but the energy of the song saves it.

Emily takes the lead on the closing track, the introspective “Love a Little Bigger.” The trio’s harmonies are adequate, but this time around, the group lacks the vocal edge needed to fill the shoes of SHeDAISY or the Dixie Chicks.
