Walk Along

There are few traditions more hallowed in country music than that of family members joining together in song—after all, there’s no more natural harmony than that produced by voices that carry the same DNA. So it’s no surprise that the most enjoyable moments on Walk Along find sisters Julie Peebles and Amy Sherman (Mickey is their maiden name) intertwining their voices until it’s hard to know who’s who and who’s doing what. The low-key and easygoing mood throughout the album is consistently likable, although it’s telling that the standout song is a ringer: Tom Petty’s delicately shimmering “Alright for Now.”
