The Very Best of John Michael Montgomery

This nearly comprehensive look at John Michael's first decade gets the few fast-paced hits he's had out of the way right off the bat, then proceeds quickly to what he does best: smooth, sensitive love songs like "I Swear" and surefire tearjerkers like "The Little Girl."

John Michael's second best-of adds almost a half-hour to his 1997 Greatest Hits, while inexplicably skipping one crucial hit, '97's "I Miss You a Little." But he does include two fine new songs ("Cool" and "One Day Less") that sit comfortably next to the 17 Top 10s.
