The Very Best of David Frizzell

David Frizzell’s 1980s solo hits have been shockingly scarce throughout the CD era (apart from occasional re-recordings), so this thorough compilation serves an invaluable service. The Very Best of David Frizzell collects all of David’s solo singles on the Warner Bros. and Viva labels, a period spanning 1981 to 1985 and including hits like “I’m Gonna Hire a Wino to Decorate Our Home,” “Where Are You Spending Your Nights These Days” and “Lost My Baby Blues.” David’s story is incomplete without his many hit duets with Shelly West, none of which are included here. Pick up this album’s companion piece, the recently released The Very Best of David Frizzell & Shelly West, for the full picture.
