The son of Hank Williams Jr. apparently takes lots of drugs, drinks gallons of liquor and believes, as he sings in ÂDick in Dixie, that pop-country really sucks—and he wonÂt let you forget it. The intake of illicit substances and the sorry state of modern country music are pretty much all Hank III seems to be concerned about, and the repetition soon grows tiresome. This self-proclaimed ÂCrazed Country Rebel is a promising talent and Straight to Hell is musically rousing, but itÂs a shame that he doesnÂt seem to have more to say.
