The songs on Rodney’s third album, first released in 1981, are better known through cover versions by artists like Bob Seger (“Shame on the Moon”), Crystal Gayle (“’Til I Gain Control Again”) and George Strait (“Stars on the Water”). But Rodney’s own renditions hold up just fine 26 years later, thanks in part to musical support from then-wife Rosanne Cash and his now-legendary backing band, an all-star lineup including Vince Gill.
