On the cover of their first album, ex-Little Texas singer Tim Rushlow's new group looks like a bunch of friends having a good time. If only that's how they sounded.

Rushlow's debut feels untouched by human hands - nearly every moment seems processed and programmed. Tim is still a fine singer, but he's surrounded by songs and sounds that smooth out every rough edge and sacrifice emotional connections. Let's hope that next time out, Rushlow sounds less like a machine and more like a bunch of friends having a good time - you know, a band.
