“Radio,” Darius Rucker’s bouncy new single, is the perfect marriage of an artist’s effervescent personality with an upbeat song, this one about the love of music.

If you’re a fan of Darius, you can instinctively tell, based on the lyric and the groove, that he was a co-writer of the track. It’s as autobiographical as it gets. And anyone who grew up when your only choice was AM or FM, and a midday deejay was your sole source for discovering new music, can relate.

The energy in “Radio” is so palpable you almost feel as if you are sitting four-across in the front seat of a vintage Chevy fighting over who gets to punch the radio buttons to find the song that defined the best summer of your life.
