Only Time Will Tell

The Alabama-born Anna’s debut is all about self-respect. That may take the form of leaving a lover who just won’t change (“Pink Roses”) or escaping an abusive relationship (“Only Time Will Tell”). Her covers of Delbert McClinton’s “Two More Bottles of Wine” and Julie Reeves’ “Trouble Is a Woman” are respectable and slightly daring for a debut album. Although Anna did not have a hand in writing any of the tracks here, she proves she is a capable interpreter, and her energetic vocals give hints of Taylor Swift with an actual Southern drawl.
