Listen once to Wade Hayes’ debut album, Old Enough to Know Better, and you’ll get the impression you’re listening to one of 1995’s next stars. I’ll predict the album has at least four or five Top 10 hits and one or two that could go all the way to the top.

Best breakthrough bets are the energetic title cut, which has already proved to be a chart winner, the catchy “Don’t Stop” and the bluesy “Don’t Make Me Come to Tulsa” (Wade is an Oklahoma native, by the way).

However, I think this young man’s strength lies in the treatment of the ballads. Maybe the album’s strongest song is “I’m Still Dancing With You,” about a man who, no matter who he’s dancing with now, can’t forget his lost love.
