Now and Then

For the first album on his own record label, Nippit, Aaron heads back to his beginnings by re-recording an intriguing selection of songs from the first four years of his career—including big hits (“There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong With the Radio,” “That’s as Close as I’ll Get to Loving You”) and lesser-known tunes (“Honky-Tonk Superman,” “Whole Lotta Love on the Line”). The new versions crackle with a surprisingly fresh energy and fierce commitment, and three new songs, including the current single, “Ready to Rock (in a Country Kinda Way),” stand up just fine alongside the tried-and-true tunes from the ’90s.
