Night Train by Jason Aldean

Take an artist who knows his wheelhouse but isn’t afraid to stretch beyond boundaries, add the confidence that comes from having more than a dozen hits, and you’ve got the newest release from Jason Aldean—Night Train.

Nobody makes small towns sound sweeter than Jason, but it ain’t all just porches and plows, as he sings in “This Nothin’ Town.” Night Train takes listeners on a journey of love, laughter and life on the road. From the steamy “When She Says Baby,” to the tender “Talk,” to the intimate “Staring at the Sun,” Jason explores relationships at every level, but don’t worry, he’s still country-boy tough! In fact, he enlists the help of pals Luke Bryan and Eric Church for “The Only Way I Know”—an edgy track with an in-your-face attitude and driving beat.

You won’t want to skip over the haunting “Black Tears,” the dark story of a stripper’s life, or the equally compelling but completely different “1994.” Hooky as heck with its novel Joe, Joe, Joe Diffie! chorus, its rolling groove almost makes you forget its hilarity. It’s hard to believe that one of the song’s writers—newcomer Thomas Rhett—was only 4 in “1994.”

With Night Train, gone are the days of Jason just “doing what he does best.” Because, with these 15 tracks, it’s clear he can do it all pretty damn good.
