For parents driven up the wall by the inanity and condescension of much music marketed to kids, Little Mo’ McCoury will come as a welcome relief. Bluegrass giants Ronnie and dad Del tackle these tunes just like they would their usual repertoire—with verve, energy and a respect for their audience’s intelligence. Make no mistake—most of Little Mo’ McCoury is rollicking fun. But challenging song choices like Bob Dylan’s “Man Gave Names to All the Animals” and also lend it a surprising depth.
