Little Honey

Lucinda Williams has been known to take four, six or even eight years between albums, but the new millennium has seen her output accelerating—and now we have Little Honey a mere year and a half after her previous album, West. The relatively fast pace is reflected in the grooves of Little Honey, a more up-tempo and lighthearted offering than Lucinda’s usual fare. Rock-star guests Elvis Costello, Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs add to the energy level, which peaks on a breathless closing sprint through AC/DC’s “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ’n’ Roll).”
