Keep Your Soul: A Tribute to Doug Sahm

Doug Sahm spent more than four decades making music, helping to build the foundations of modern Tex-Mex and Americana in the process. Keep Your Soul gathers a variety of Doug’s collaborators, friends and fans to honor his accomplishments just ahead of the 10th anniversary of his death. While it avoids the inconsistency of many tribute albums, Keep Your Soul never quite fully takes flight either. The artists involved (including Delbert McClinton, Los Lobos and Alejandro Escovedo) are a reliable who’s-who of Texas staples, leaving only alt-rocker Greg Dulli to provide an unexpected voice to illuminate the reach of Doug’s influence.
