Justin Moore

The first two singles from Justin Moore’s self-titled debut neatly establish the rather wide parameters of his musical personality: “Back That Thing Up” is a ribald ode to the female posterior, while the Top 10 “Small Town USA” is a wholesome salute to old-fashioned values. The former’s attitude is found elsewhere here in “Hank It” and the self-explanatory “I Could Kick Your Ass,” but the latter’s rural theme dominates the album. In fact, despite the considerable promise it shows, Justin Moore finally gets bogged down by a few too many examples of the I’m-a-country-boy theme that already dominates so many modern country albums.
