Dierks Bentley recently declared Texas singer/songwriter Randy Rogers “one of the good guys,” and this album demonstrates why. Randy and his whip-crack band crank out a smart but accessible brand of kickin’ country, skillfully deploying rock muscle and a keen sense of melody. As producer, master songwriter Radney Foster helps to keep Just a Matter of Time focused on sure songcraft (Radney himself co-wrote five of the 12 tunes). And Randy delivers everything here with the verve and confidence of a star in the making. And who knows? Maybe it’s just a matter of time.
