It’z Just What We Do by Florida Georgia Line

Newcomers Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line first met while students at Nashville’s Belmont University, and melded their diverse musical backgrounds to create their first five-song EP.

No softhearted love songs here, though. Producer Joey Moi (Jake Owen, Nickelback) is a fine match for the duo’s country-meets-alt-rock sound. “Tip It Back” encourages listeners to drown their worries and Don’t worry about anything except what’s in your glass / Tip it back, whether that’s whiskey, tequila, beer or your favorite dance-hall partner.

The glittering “Get Your Shine On” and breezy current single “Cruise” are radio-ready tracks that showcase this duo’s effortless and unpretentious harmonies, but they save the best for last. Don’t act like y’all didn’t know this wasn’t coming, they say in the intro of the title track, a hip-hop hybrid of crunchy electric guitar riffs, rap lyrics and backwoods boondock roots that would make Kid Rock proud and Jason Aldean envious.

If you’re ready for a high-adrenaline party, this is the disc to spin.
