Hell on Wheels

Jeffrey-Steele.jpg

Jeffrey Steele is one of the most successful and prolific song- writers in Nashville, and his profile was recently raised by his stint as a judge on TV’s Nashville Star. That led to a deal with the retailer Best Buy to simultaneously release three albums through its stores: Greatest Hits Vol. II offers his own versions of hits he wrote for others, Countrypolitan is a collection of classic country covers and Hell on Wheels is a set of 14 self-penned songs that Jeffrey has kept (mostly) for himself. He’s a powerful singer—and of course, songwriting is no problem—but his style is so brawny and brash that Hell on Wheels is best consumed in small doses.
