Friday Night In Dixie (Audium Records)

On his new album, Rhett saves the best for last. If you have any doubt about his stone-country soul, check out the acoustic version of "That Ain't My Truck," his first Top 10 hit, tagged onto the end of Friday Night In Dixie.

But make no mistake -- Rhett isn't riding on past glories. In fact, for his fourth album, he's written and co-produced a vibrant collection of brand-new songs.

Rhett teamed with Charlie Daniels to pen the Southern-rockin' title track, a clever story-song about good ol' boys and gals getting the weekend off to a rousing start. He comments on his other musical influences -- from Hank Jr. to the Rolling Stones -- on "You Rock Me," but the track is really a tribute to the inspirational power of his sweetie in the tune. Romance is also on Rhett's mind in the emotional "In Your Love" and the driving "White Lies And Blue Eyes," about a spoiled heartbreaker who's had her way with our hero's tender heart.

So while fans will be curious to hear that new version of "That Ain't My Truck," it's Rhett's new songs that make Friday Night In Dixie sound like a real good time.
