Every Chance I Get by Colt Ford

A father, a husband, a small-town dweller, a lover, a partier—Colt Ford takes every opportunity to showcase his many different roles, and this time around Colt brings even more star power than on 2010’s Chicken & Biscuits.

Tim McGraw lends his vocals to “Twisted,” the tale of a man who leaves his small town only to realize what he’s missing. Luke Bryan guests on “Work It Out,” which details a husband’s attempt to focus on his relationship rather than his honey-do list. “She Wants to Ride in Trucks,” about a father watching his daughter growing up too fast, is one of the album’s most poignant stories, sung by Craig Morgan.

Colt collaborated on two songs with a trio of Georgia-born hit songwriters, Dallas Davidson, Rhett Akins and Ben Hayslip. Charlie Daniels appears on “Overworked & Underpaid,” while Eric Church guests on “Country Thang,” the latest in a less interesting, formulaic line of songs that have been released to radio in recent years that spell out exactly what “being country” should be.

Overall, the album blends hip-hop beats with down-home lyrics.
