Duets: Friends and Legends

Veteran Canadian songbird Anne Murray ostensibly retired from recording several years ago but she has been lured back to the studio for this special project. Duets: Friends and Legends finds Anne revisiting some of her biggest hist (including 10 of her 25 country Top 10s), recast as duets with many of the female stars she has influenced. While many of these songs retain their saccharine aftertaste, the duet format livens up the proceedings, and Anne is well matched with nicely contrasting voices like those of Shania Twain, Martina McBride, Emmylou Harris and Shelby Lynne.
