Crazy Ex-Girlfriend by Miranda Lambert

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend kicks off with the shotgun blast of “Gunpowder & Lead,” a searing revenge anthem that will frighten off the faint of heart who found Miranda’s similarly aggressive hit “Kerosene” too much to handle.

Once those wusses are gone, the rest of us can enjoy one of the best country albums of the year so far. Miranda’s sophomore effort showcases a quickly maturing talent whose range spans the rage of “Gunpowder” all the way to sweetly yearning ballads like “More Like Her” and the thoughtful observations found in the current single, “Famous in a Small Town.”
