Cole Deggs & the Lonesome

Cole has been kicking around Nashville for a decade, so it’s no wonder that his debut is more assured than most. The Texas native writes and picks songs that show an uncommon eye for vivid details and a lyrical bent toward romantic longing, and the melodic hooks in tunes like “Do You Ever Think About Me” and Cole’s own “Makin’ Nothing Out of Something” sink in quickly and deeply. Meanwhile, producers Mark Wright and Rivers Rutherford make room for cool touches like the jazzy electric piano break on the first single, “I Got More.”
